Hungry children that I've seen
go downtown and you'll know what I mean
Young children that have run away from home
hungry for food looking everywhere they roam
Asking for hand outs what a sight to see
If only someone would help to end their misery
This awful way of living in the dirty old street
If only we could help them stand on their feet
Have you ever stopped to think if it was your child there
Would you want someone to cloth them so they won't be bare
I've seen these children... starving for food
Pay attention next time and do some good
Lend a helpinghand it could mean life or death
Just take a long look it could be their last breath
